Last week was so much fun for the Schachterle family. Last Wednesday, we went to the Spring Festival of Nations where our wonderful friend Adi held Lily the whole time so Scott and I were able to watch the show together without having to worry about Lily. Also at the show we got to catch up with some old friends and show off our little Lily even more.

Thursday night we went to basically a Hungarian Rec Night that was called tanchaz. We had so many friends there who helped hold Lily so that Scott and I could dance together (although we didn't get any pictures together). I was able to capture Scott in all his glory dancing with Amanda Dance's mom and then some video of him doing some manly Hungarian dancing:

Friday night we had a SPAC '06 Reunion. This was a great time, started off a bit shaky . . .we had thought we had the Raintree common room reserved from 6-9pm. However, when Scott and I got there, there was a bridal shower going on (which was suppose to go until 7pm) and then they told us that another group (a birthday party) had it reserved from 7:30 until 1am!!! But, we told them our little predicament and everyone helped us by squeezing us in, thank goodness. The rest of the party went accordingly, we ate pasta and had some tears and great laughs. Rachel Mecham and Shua (Joshua) Park surprised us by singing the song they wrote about SPAC . . .wish we got that on video! Such great memories that Scott and I will cherish forever. We will definitely miss all the friends we have met when we move to the east coast. (But we will be keeping in touch!)

Saturday and Sunday revolved around General Conference (for those who don't know, we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - the "Mormon" church). It was an amazing conference and we learned so much. There is so much power that lies within the leaders of our church and we know for a fact that they are all guided by our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. After conference was over on Sunday night, Scott and I went through all of our notes and came up with goals for us and our family, and answers to our questions we thought of in preparation for conference. It was a great evening because it really put things in perspective for us. It taught us more about the eternal perspective and the importance of the gospel . . .not to mention it strengthened our testimonies and relationship with each other - we really feel like we are on the same page. We know for a fact and will not deny that this Church is true and that Joseph Smith restored it to the earth and was guided by our Heavenly Father throughout its whole establishment. We know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane in order to atone for our sins, and also felt everything we will endure in our lives . . .every moment of despair, pain, anguish, joy, scratch, bruise, injury, tear, and the list goes on - and he felt that for everyone! We also know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. We know that we have a modern day prophet here on the earth and his name is President Thomas S. Monson. Having this gospel has been a rock and foundation in our lives and will continue to be so forever and ever. This week we have the SPAC Showcase on Wednesday, Senior Celebration on Friday, and on Saturday I have three students competing in the Reach for the Peaks figure skating competition at the Peaks Arena and Scott will be taking the eight hour long Fundamentals of Engineering test! Still can’t wait until all this busy-ness is done and we can have lots more fun!
