Long Post, but a good Post

Well, our end of July to the almost end of August has been quite the whirlwind of fun adventures!!

We got our family pictures done by our good friend Sarah Rader, and they turned out wonderful!! Thank you Sarah!

We also attended (in July), a concert in the park where we got lots of fun goodies and got to listen to a pop orchestra play.  Scott even got to stand up and represent the Navy when they played Anchors Away.

Here is evidence that we got our trampoline!! Happy birthday Maggie!!

We also said goodbye to Lily's friend Brynlee who moved away (they used to live across the street).

I also took 2 of my older handmade diaper bags and made them into one for a friend.

At the end of July, we attended our Stake Pioneer Day (What's a Stake? Find out HERE.). Lily got to hold some very old and very expensive beads and the girls enjoyed in some games. I also baked an apple pie with whole wheat crust (it smelled so good, but we didn't get a chance to partake of it).

We also headed up to my hometown for my 10 year high school reunion. While we were there I got to show Scott and the girls around my old haunts and show them where I went to school (which made it fun for Lily since she's starting school in the Fall). We also spent some time with my sister and my parents. My sister's younger girls and Lily put on a fashion show for us!

Hanging out with friends from high school! Go class of 2003!

Then my parents came down to visit and we took them miniature golfing!

Scott's Family Reunion on the Oregon Coast!!!

We held Sunday dinner at our house (before leaving for the coast). It was a blast!!

Once we got to the coast:

We did some crabbing . . .

We visited some lighthouses in Newport:

This first lighthouse had some nesting birds near it on a large rock, and boy did they STINK!! It was a smell that was a combination of  the smell that flamingos and snakes put off. Yuck!!

We visited the Historical Fishing District and got to see some wild sea lions (it was quite the bachelor pad show . . . you could just sit there and watch them brawl and bark at each other).

 Newport Aquarium

Kite Flying and fun crafts/activities (making octopus cupcakes and having Tiki Tea Party, making lighthouses out of plastic cups, making necklaces and bracelets, and much more).
On our way home we stopped by Devil's Punchbowl and got some yummy clam chowder at Mo's.

The Saturday after the family reunion we headed to the county fair. Lily and Maggie won fun stuff from the booths and we enjoyed petting the farm animals. Maggie especially enjoyed the goats.

The following week (just this past weekend), we headed down to Lebanon, OR (Scott met up with us later because he went camping/rafting with the youth from church . . . he even came back with some battle wounds that I helped patch up) to visit some relatives and attend the Country Music Festival in Brownsville, OR. We got to see Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley!! It was a blast . . . except for trying to get my water bottle filled (we had to go to the Beer Garden in order to get free water, it must have made for an interesting sight a pregnant lady and her BYU shirt wearing husband in the Beer Garden, oh well . . . at least we got our water and all the soda we wanted for free).

Carrie Underwood

We got pretty decent seats when we saw Brad perform. He was quite the performer and even gave out his guitar and hat to some foster children in the VIP section.

So, that is the end of our adventures . . . except for Maggie enjoying putting on my boots :-)

Next week, Scott will be in Nicaragua for a study abroad program for his MBA while the girls and I help get Lily ready to start school!!! Spanish-Immersion program here she comes!!
