June came and went, but we had some great times . . .
We got a pet fish, declared it to be a girl and named her Crystal (okay, Lily declared it a girl and then named it, but that's just fine for us . . . besides we got it for her).
We celebrated Father's Day. Scott is the most amazing father and husband. We are so glad that we have him!! We are also so grateful for our (Scott and Bethany) fathers and all that they have taught us!! Such amazing examples.
(I made Scott a dinner of BBQ Ribs - crock pot version, rolls, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and tres leches cake)
(taking a wrestling break from cooking)
Later that month, we discovered Lily's (and Maggie's) joy of pushing Maggie in the doll stroller.
Random pictures of Maggie and Lily . . .
(Maggie has learned the joy of smearing her face with food)
(Playing in the kitchen cupboards)
(Maggie enjoys putting anything around her neck - which can be dangerous, so we watch her very closely when that is done :-) )
(One day while I was gone, Scott had fallen asleep reading to the girls and during his nap Lily built a huge fort all around him - he was below all of those cushions and blankets)
(With the HOT weather, we have been getting in the water a lot. This is Lily and one of her best friends Martina . . . they are so, so funny together and play so well with each other)
(SPRINKLERS!!!)
The beginning of July started out great with a visit from Grammy and Papa Graham.
We celebrated Maggie's 1st birthday on Independence Day. We had a few friends over, ate some good food, and played in the water. It's so hard to believe that she's 1 year old already!! This last year went by WAY too fast!
(Our Little Mermaids)
(Maggie's birthday cake)
(Blowing out the candle!!! She almost made the same mistake Lily did and reached for the flame . . . Luckily her big sister came to the rescue and blew it out before she got burned)
(She knew exactly what to do with it!!)
(Happy sisters!!)
In other news , we are steadily getting ready for our big move to Washington. These next few weeks are going to be crazy, especially the waiting and more waiting for the separation orders from the Navy. Scott is done teaching, now he basically just goes in to work in the morning and comes home around lunch (which is good because we have a lot more work to do before we can move). Bethany is done teaching dance and is doing really well with her skating (landed her double salchow, yay!!). Lily is doing leaps and bounds with her reading (she almost read 15 books all by herself for the library reading program). Maggie is walking and saying more words every day!!
Oh, and we bought new (well new to us) couches!
Stay tuned for more fun . . . yes, I might post more this month!! Yay!!!
